Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Intern to join our Finance team at Collegium Pharmaceutical, Inc., a commercial-stage pharmaceutical company. This internship provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in financial operations, reporting, and process improvement initiatives. As part of a small and dynamic team, the intern will contribute to projects that enhance efficiency in the monthly close and financial reporting processes.

Responsibilities
- Assist in process improvement initiatives aimed at streamlining accounting workflows and enhancing financial reporting accuracy.
- Work on data analysis projects, including validating and reconciling financial data to support decision-making.
- Collaborate with team members to enhance financial systems and reporting tools.
- Participate in cross-functional projects with finance, commercial, and operational teams to optimize financial processes.
- Gain real-world exposure to corporate accounting and financial operations within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Develop proficiency in financial reporting, data analysis, and accounting systems.
- Build a strong foundation in GAAP accounting principles and internal controls
- Improve communication and collaboration skills by working with various departments
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with an interest in corporate accounting and process improvement.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint; experience with data analysis tools (e.g. Alteryx) is a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Eagerness to learn and contribute to meaningful financial initiatives.
