Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive accounting support for daily, weekly, and monthly cash management.
- Prepare monthly reconciliations of bank statements and keep track of daily banking transactions across multiple accounts.
- Process deposits, payments, and bank transfers with accuracy and efficiency.
- Input bank activities into accounting software via journal entries, adhering to the appropriate general ledger accounts.
- Reconcile bank statements with internal financial records, ensuring the verification of all transactions.
- Maintain an outstanding check register and ensure the payroll bank accounts are reconciled accurately.
- Manage special events bank accounts and accurately record all related fundraising, pledges, and donations.
- Collaborate with the Development Team to uphold GAAP compliance in all fundraising activities.
- Calculate and process utility-related invoices as per lease agreements.
- Assist in accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and internal reporting functions.
- Conduct analysis of general ledger accounts and ensure balance sheet accounts are properly maintained.
- Offer support during year-end and compliance audits, as well as other financial inquiries as required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and email systems (Outlook).
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Blackbaud or similar).
- Strong grasp of GAAP principles as they pertain to balance sheet recordkeeping.
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and attention-to-detail capabilities.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to task management.
- Capability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- A strong commitment to confidentiality and integrity in financial dealings.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 1-3 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Nonprofit accounting experience is desirable but not mandatory.
