Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive accounting support for daily, weekly, and monthly cash management, including the preparation of monthly bank reconciliations.
- Oversee and document daily banking activities for multiple accounts, such as deposits, payments, transfers, and wire transactions.
- Utilize accounting software to process and record bank activities, ensuring alignment with the appropriate general ledger accounts.
- Reconcile operational bank statements against internal records, verifying all deposits, payments, and transactions.
- Maintain an accurate check register and assist in reconciling payroll bank accounts.
- Collaborate with the Development Team to reconcile special events bank accounts, ensuring precise reporting of fundraising activities, pledges, and donations.
- Prepare and issue utility invoices in accordance with lease agreements for rental properties.
- Process credit card transactions for external clients and insurance providers as necessary.
- Support various finance functions, encompassing billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and internal reporting.
- Assist with general ledger account analysis and maintain documentation related to specific balance sheet accounts.
- Provide assistance with year-end audits, compliance audits, and generate miscellaneous financial reports as required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Blackbaud or similar).
- Solid understanding of GAAP, particularly in relation to balance sheet recordkeeping.
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills, with a strong attention to detail.
- Experience in not-for-profit accounting is advantageous.
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is essential.
- 1-3 years of relevant accounting experience is preferred.
