Job Summary
The Marco Island Executive Airport is seeking a Customer Service Specialist to join our Team. Work involves receiving and assisting callers and visitors; providing information and explaining policies and procedures; collecting payments and applications; and performing a variety of routine clerical duties.
Essential Functions
- Answers division/department telephones and incoming correspondence; assists callers with questions regarding division programs, services or procedures; refers callers to other staff members as appropriate; and takes messages; may operate switchboard.
- Receives, screens and assists visitors and/or customers; provides information; and/or directs visitors to appropriate staff member or division; provides information regarding Division programs; explains policies and procedures; receives applications, payments, requests and/or complaints; and researches and provides information from division databases or records as requested.
- Provides forms, applications, receipts or other documents to visitors/customers upon request; assists customers with completing forms.
- Performs general clerical work to support Division programs and operations; enters and maintains information in Division databases; retrieves information upon request; copies and files documents, schedule conference rooms or meetings; maintains mailing lists.
- Prepares correspondence, letters and memos; types and completes forms and other documents. Issues permits and certificates which have been prepared and/or approved by professional/ technical staff; prepares and/or maintains Division resources such as maps, code books, etc.
- Receives forms, applications and/or fees from customers, clients and/or residents; logs/records related information such as customer name, date received or dollar amount, etc.
- Receives, dates and distributes incoming mail. Prepares outgoing mail; makes photocopies of documents; distributes and/or faxes documents upon request.
- Maintains a variety of Division files and records, such as program and operational files, mailing lists, client files, etc.
- May operate two-way radios to communicate with field personnel.
- Escorts various private and company personnel unfamiliar with the airport grounds as requested to ensure safety compliance.
- Can perform airport morning opening and nightly closeout procedures and can conduct all pre-closing/opening inspections.
- Able to drive a golf cart or vehicles to and from aircraft as required.
- Assist customers with their luggage, rental cars and catering service as needed.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively disseminate information among passengers, pilots, transportation services and airport staff.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS
- Performs a variety of cleaning tasks.
- Assists with and responds to airport emergencies in accordance with airport procedures.
- Will be required to work holidays, weekends, and shifts.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- No experience required; six (6) months related experience preferred.
- Fingerprinting required.

- Salary offers above the minimum of the pay grade may be considered based on qualifications.
- Essential Employees may be required to work during an undeclared emergency and/or declared emergency. On an incident-by-incident basis, the County’s Administrative Office will make the determination as to who will be required to work.
