What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Generalist I position at Collier County Sheriff's Office?
The Collier County Sheriff's Office is looking for positive, proactive, energetic, enthusiastic individuals that support our core principles of community, safety, service to fill the position of Human Resources Generalist I. Starting salary at $ 24.69 per hour.
Minimum requirements:
- Must be able to type 30 correct wpm.
- Minimum Wonderlic score of 18.
- Minimum OPAC score of 80%
Position Requirements:
- Must have excellent public relations, organization, and communication skills.
- Must be able to organize and maintain complex record keeping and filing systems.
- Must have computer skills, including data entry and word processing.
- Knowledge of Human Resources policies and procedures, and HRIS system (MUNIS) helpful.
- Knowledge or federal and state law regarding employment helpful
- Must be able to work occasional evenings and/or weekend days.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Possess ability to think independently and to also work well within a group.
Examples of duties:
- Answer the telephone and respond to requests for information regarding Human Resources issues and procedures.
- Organize, manage, and maintain official personnel and applicant records and files according to FDLE standards and State and Federal Statutes.
- Process and record all personnel activity, including status changes, salary increases, and incentive classes.
- Process employment applications including scheduling of all required testing, administering skills and aptitude testing, conducting interviews and employee orientations, and scanning applications into Laserfiche system.
- Assist with recruitment activities
- Create and disseminate correspondence with members and applicants.
- Assist with risk and wellness tasks, as requested.
