What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Manager I - Solid Waste Division position at Collier County?
Manages and coordinates activities of general construction and/or technical projects for Solid & Hazardous Waste Management Divisions. To lead project execution, manage budgets and schedules, and collaborate effectively with stakeholders. Projects managed at this level may be smaller in scope and/or under the supervision of an experienced Project Manager. • Assist in the development of the section's capital budget and maintain the section's procurement activities in compliance with the Procurement Services Division and the Clerk's Finance Office.
• Identifies and recommends proper allocation of material and services, prepares and processes varied administrative and procurement documents, internal controls, contract administration, budget amendments; then monitors the workflows until processes are complete.
• Coordinates daily work activities; organizes, prioritizes, and assigns work.
• Ensures compliance with all applicable codes, laws, rules, regulations, standards, permits, policies, and procedures.
• Monitors work status and ensures compliance with terms of contract, including but not limited to invoices.
• Interacts, consults, and coordinates efforts with internal and external shareholders, including but not limited to coordinating and participating in meetings, and/or responds to inquiries/complaints.
• Identify and assists with complex problem and/or situations, including but not limited to, and technical work, research, implementation, as needed.
• Tracks status of work in progress and conducts inspections, as needed, and ensures quality control.
• Monitors work environment to ensure adherence to safety procedures.
• Initiates any actions necessary to correct deviations or violations.
• Reviews and makes recommendations for plans, designs, specifications, and reports.
• Prepares and submits project specific budgets, and monitors expenditures to ensure compliance.
• Create project schedules, monitors progress of project in meeting established schedule.
• Coordinates process for bidding and contracting of services, including collaboration, as necessary, for preparation of solicitations for services, requests for proposals, requests for information, invitations to bid, and/or work.
• Manage project, with shareholders, as necessary, including but not limited to scope, procurement, solicitation, addendums, progress meetings, change orders, negotiations, etc., and assists with preparation of Executive Summaries.
• Performs other related duties as required. • Bachelor’s degree in a related field required.
• One (1) year of related experience preferred.
• Candidates without a related degree should possess four (4) years of related experience.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License with any applicable endorsement(s) to drive a County vehicle as provided in CMA 5805.
• Fingerprinting Required.

- Salary offers above the minimum pay grade may be considered based on qualifications.
- Essential Employees may be required to work during an undeclared or declared emergency. The County’s Administrative Office will determine who will be required to work on an incident-by-incident basis.

Salary : $56,646 - $62,311
