Collier Foundation Systems, Inc., a precast concrete manufacturer, is seeking an ambitious full time CAD Designer to add to our Superior Walls team. The ideal candidate will have strong design experience in residential construction.
The CAD Designer for Superior Walls is responsible for creating submittal drawings, contract drawings and production drawings while reviewing the drawings to ensure compliance of product specifications and design standards. Requires; an understanding of architectural and structural blueprints, good work ethic, and strong communication within internal and external teams. Regularly provides assistance to team by answering phone calls and providing technical details to customers.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare submittal drawings (Preliminary Drawings) based on specifications, details and blueprints provided
- Work closely with team members to ensure accurate and timely submittals
- Understand and apply product specifications to project drawings while maintaining customer’s desired design
- Process change orders (Redlines) quickly and efficiently, while accurately recording changes
- Generate final drawings (Contract Drawings) based on previous changes and product specifications for customer approval
- Develop manufacturing drawings (Production Drawings) based on the final drawings for final manufacturing and production of project
- Communicate project information as needed to both internal teams including sales, manufacturing, and construction, and external teams including architects, engineers, code officials and customers
- Work on and provide estimates on project costs
- Assist with office phone calls
- Answer questions and provide technical specifications on product
- Assist with other products CAD projects when requested
Required Skills
- Ability to visualize projects based on concepts / ideas
- Proficient in Reading, understanding, scaling, and transferring information from Architectural Blueprints, Structural Blueprints, and project details into CAD
- Strong mathematical skills and ability to work with fractions
- Self-motivated, ability to follow directions
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to solve challenging technical problems through creative solutions
- Accurate and precise attention to detail
- Capable of working well independently or as part of a team project
- Computer Skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, AutoCAD, QuickBooks
- Associate’s degree in Architectural Drafting
- Minimum of 2 years of Architectural CAD experience
- Pre-employment drug testing
