Electrician Journeyman

Primary Location : 9700 Wade Boulevard, Frisco, Texas, 75035We are searching for candidates that meet the required qualifications and experience and are able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities.Job Summary : Safely perform journeyman-level tasks in the fabrication, construction, maintenance, alteration and repair of fixtures, equipment, structures, buildings, and built-in components for Collin College facilities. Work under general supervision with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.Required Qualifications : Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesInstall, operate, and repair electrical equipment and systems of all types in accordance with the latest NC guidelines.Perform preventative maintenance on all existing electrical systems and equipment.Keep all work areas and related electrical equipment and / or tool rooms clean at all times.Take care of all tools belonging to the institution that are being used by the electrical department.Provide quick and efficient response to campus emergencies.Perform other similar and related duties as assigned that utilize the employee's education, experience and unique skill set.Actively participate and complete training, personal development, and continuing education.Maintain compliance with national, state and local codes.Supplemental FunctionsPerform other duties as assigned.Perform all duties to maintain all standards in accordance with college policies, procedures, and core values.Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesThorough knowledge of the standard tools, equipment, materials, methods and practices of the assigned tradeBasic knowledge and ability to install, operate, maintain and install of building systems and associated equipmentKnowledge of occupational and safety hazards in trade and PPE and processes to prevent accidentsBasic understanding of other trades and able to perform or assist in the completion of themSkilled in proper use of the tools, equipment and devices used in the construction and maintenance tradeAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationshipsAble to work and respond on weekends, holidays and after hoursPhysical Demands, Working Conditions and Physical Effort Medium Work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and / or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects. Positions in this class typically include talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking and repetitive motions, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, climbing and balancing, plus pushing, pulling and lifting. Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, odors, dusts, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting and intense noises, gases and workspace restrictions. Frequent physical effort required.Requirements High school diploma or GED and three (3) years experience as a licensed journeyman in the electrical trade required.Licenses and Certifications Journeyman electrician license required.
