Collins is seeking a highly motivated and self- starter to join our team as an Entry-Level Engineer in our Lansing, Michigan office. This role offers a great opportunity for a highly motivated, driven professional who is looking for career growth with a company pushing forward in the industry. This position is a mix of office and fieldwork with some state-wide and local travel. We offer plenty of opportunities for growth with the targeted expansion of our Michigan team. Current expansion for the state of Michigan is being led from our Lansing, MI office.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Perform design and inspection/field work that does not require previous experience.
- Assist in the completion of inspection and assessment reports.
- Prepare design computations and quantity estimates.
- Keep Project Managers informed of workload and any changes to project scope or additional services.
- Use computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare calculation packages and design drawings.
- Is active in technical societies.
- Is able to attend meetings or events outside of normal working hours.
- Has limited communication with clients.
- Instruct draftspersons / technicians on design drawings, data entry, and report preparation.
- Actively observes and acts in an appropriate manner related to safety.

Qualifications
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year university plus appropriate continuing education
- 0-4 years of experience.
- Engineer-In-Training (E.I.T.) or ability to obtain within one year.

Salary : $70,000 - $80,000
