Collins Engineers is seeking a Rail/Transit Project Manager II for our Norwood, MA, office. This position will be responsible for overseeing a team of subconsultants, monitoring budgets designs, and acting as the owner’s project manager. This is a great opportunity for a strong decision maker who enjoys client interaction and autonomy.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform complex engineering computations involving conventional engineering practices.
- Demonstrate strong proficiency in computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.
- Responsible for projects of varying size and complexity from inception to completion.
- Take an active role in contract negotiations, project planning, project quality, and project profitability.
- Oversee project budgets.
- Accountable for project schedules and timely completion of projects.
- Ensure accurate client billings and monitors outstanding accounts receivable.
- Provide leadership in client management, proposal preparation, project scoping, and estimating project costs.
- Maintain meaningful relationships with clients.
- Direct and supervise the work of project teams and support staff.
- Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor's degree and/or master’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited four-year university.
- Eight years or more experience in structural design and project management.
- Experience in the design and construction of rail and transit facilities, buildings, railroads, bridges, or roadways.
- Experience and proficiency with railroads and transit design specifications and requirements, including AREMA standards, preferred.
- Experience with MBTA, MassDOT, Massport, Amtrak, and/or freight owner standards and procedures preferred.
- Experience with project management software, including Primavera P6 and MS Project, preferred.
- Owner project management experience a plus.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification a plus.
- Active participation or willingness to participate in other client activities and national events such as APTA, AREMA, and The New England Railroad Club preferred.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) certification.
- Valid driver’s license.

Salary : $130,000 - $160,000
