What does an PMO Director do?
The PMO Director provides strategic leadership and oversight for a team of Project Managers, ensuring that all cross-functional projects align with organizational standards and best practices. This role is responsible for guiding the entire project management lifecycle, including governance, team leadership, prioritization, communication, and quality control, to achieve successful project outcomes.
As a key driver of project management methodologies, the PMO Director will identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency, enhance communication, and streamline processes across a diverse project portfolio. Leading a team of Project Managers, this role will foster a collaborative environment that supports professional growth, optimizes resource allocation, and aligns project goals with business objectives.
Additionally, the PMO Director will establish and monitor key project metrics, developing standardized operating procedures that identify, mitigate, and control risks. Working closely with cross-functional departments, external partners, and vendors, the PMO Director will ensure all projects are delivered on time, meet specified requirements, and stay within budget.
What You'll do?
- Define and Direct PMO Strategy: Establish and implement the overarching strategy for the Program Management Office, driving impactful business results and aligning program objectives with the organization's strategic goals.
- Project Oversight and Lifecycle Management: Oversee project plans from inception through completion, ensuring milestones, deadlines, and reporting standards are met for all Airport Dimensions and client programs.
- Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Project Managers responsible for the daily management and successful execution of project plans. Cultivate a high-performance culture focused on accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth.
- Enhance Efficiency and Productivity: Identify and implement strategies to streamline processes, optimize resource allocation, and increase productivity, both within the PMO and across stakeholder groups.
- Stakeholder Collaboration and Alignment: Partner closely with internal and external stakeholders to shape comprehensive project plans and timelines. Lead coordination across multiple departments and partners to ensure alignment on project objectives and progress.
- Risk Mitigation and Decision Support: Develop and implement proactive risk management strategies, ensuring that decisions across stakeholder groups support successful project outcomes and minimize potential disruptions.
- Expert Advisory to Key Stakeholders: Act as a trusted advisor to Airport Dimensions and key external stakeholders, including vendors (architects, general contractors, client representatives), and operations and staffing companies. Serve as the primary point of contact for strategic project guidance and oversight.
- Executive Reporting and Presentations: Provide senior management with detailed and insightful reports and presentations on project progress, key metrics, and outcomes. Maintain open channels of communication with executive leadership to support informed decision-making.
- Communication Strategy and Technology Implementation: Develop and execute a robust communication strategy using suitable technology platforms to ensure all stakeholders provide regular updates to the Project Office. Act as the central point of contact for project status and deliverables across internal and partner workstreams.
- Executive-Level Presentation Skills: Leverage experience presenting to C-level executives within Airport Dimensions, Collinson, and external partner organizations, effectively communicating project insights and recommendations.
- Strategic Collaboration with Senior Leadership: Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure projects are aligned with organizational goals and are on track to achieve expected outcomes.
- Innovative Process Improvement: Develop advanced methodologies, applications, and standards to continuously improve the project office's capabilities, enhancing the delivery of project management excellence.
- Business Optimization and Performance Enhancement: Identify and lead initiatives focused on optimizing business processes, increasing efficiency, productivity, and performance across the organization.

Essential
- Undergraduate degree
- Minimum of 7-10 business management experience
- Project management skills and/or past experience in large scale project implementations, preferably in the travel industry
- Strong manager of people and ability to develop and maintain key internal and external working relationships (key when relying on others to complete deliverables)
- Ability to travel as needed (estimated 1-2 trips quarterly) along with flexibility to work from home or office
- Must be authorized to work in U.S.
