Site Controller

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Site Controller to join the Colloids Group at our brand-new facility in Baytown, Houston. This position is a chance to lead and shape the financial landscape of our operations in the US.
As the number one in Finance at this new site, you will have the opportunity to implement your own processes and procedures, and see your ideas come to life and make a tangible difference as the site continues to grow.
You will be part of our senior leadership team, reporting directly to the Site Manager with financial reporting responsibilities to the UK-based Group Financial Controller. In this pivotal role, you will not only drive and grow the business through financial reporting but also engage hands-on with our onsite team.
The role will encompass all aspects of finance at our US site, ensuring accurate financial records are maintained and that our internal systems are robust and compliant with both Group requirements and US regulations.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivables functions.
- Ensure payroll is submitted and all necessary filings made.
- Full Month end accounts preparation
- Ensure all tax returns and filings are made in a timely manner.
- Responsible for site annual budget and regular forecasting processes.
- Stock valuation controls
- Regular Cash flow forecasting and flash reports
- Sales margin analysis and reconciliation to financials
- Monthly reporting package in line with Group deadlines
- Cash book management
- Bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Management of Fixed Asset register and reporting of ongoing project spend.
- Reporting to both internal and external stakeholders
Other duties /responsibilities
- Any other ad hoc financial requirement of the business.
- No. 1 on site for Finance.
- Reporting performance of the site to Head Office.
- Ensure compliance with Group policies and procedures.
- Assist with Year End statutory audits.
- Other month end duties.
EXPERIENCE
- Analytical mind with a desire to grow and develop as the company grows
- Qualified Accountant, part-qualified considered
- Minimum of 3 years manufacturing experience
- Self-starter, enthusiastic and proactive
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work independently whilst also part of a wider team
- Experience with Microsoft Excel
- US Payroll experience
- Familiar with working in fast-paced department with time pressured deadlines
PACKAGE:
- Hours: Days 8am – 5pm
- Salary: Commensurate to position
- U.S. Only: Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from the Company
