Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our team. As a Forklift Operator in our Boiler/Kiln department you will work 4 days on/ 4 days off ). You will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating a, "Big Wheel" Taylor forklift to load, and unload materials within the mill. Manual labor also required as part of the role.
Responsibilities
Move finished items from production and place in storage areas.
Pull and prepare product for shipment.
Load, unload, move, relocate, stack, and store materials.
Perform daily inspections and required record keeping.
Perform housekeeping, keeping warehouses clean and free of debris.
Manual labor needed to place/remove stacking boards, maintenance of carts and wheels, and other ancillary duties.
Follow company safety practices while in the mill and when operating work equipment.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Proven experience and certification as a Forklift Operator
- Strong knowledge of materials handling techniques
- Knowledge of required forklift inspections
- Experience working in a lumber yard and/or warehouse setting
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Physical stamina to sit for long periods of time, climb in-and-out of equipment, and lift up to 35lbs. throughout the workday.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team
