Colonial Behavioral Health provides opportunities for recovery to individuals and their family members in the areas of mental illness, substance use disorder, and developmental disabilities. Colonial Behavioral Health serves the citizens of James City County, City of Poquoson, City of Williamsburg, and York County.
We are currently recruiting for a Clinical Manager- Crisis Services position within our Crisis Services program. This position works with individuals with serious mental illness and/or substance use disorder providing individuals with access to needed services and supports necessary to meeting basic needs. .
- Provides managerial and team leadership - coaching, training and assistitance to other clinicians in service provision of Crisis Services.
- Provides Crisis Services – assessment of acute crisis problems, risks, functioning and mental status; pre-admission screening; triage; and counseling supports.
- Develops and coordinates interventions to assure the treatment is delivered in the least restrictive setting within the standards of care.
- Provides clinical supervision and licensure supervision.
- Provides oversight of delivered services for regulatory compliance, reimbursement and quality improvement.
- Other duties as assigned.
Primarily Monday – Friday work schedule.
Hours may vary based upon program needs.
This position is expected to provide clinical consultation after-hours on a rotating basis.
Skills and Qualifications- Must possess effective time management skills and the ability to multi-task and maintain appropriate records.
- Knowledge of mental illness and substance use disorders.

- One year of clinical experience required.
- Must be currently certified or be able to obtain DBHDS Preadmission Screener Certification. required
- Valid driver’s license is required.
- Minimum of 3 years previous clinical and supervisory experience in mental health/substance use disorder counseling. required
- Master's Degree in a human services field required.
- Must be a Licensed Mental Health Professional (LPC,LCSW) required.
- Be an approved Clinical Supervisor per the Virginia Board of Health Professions or be able to obtain within 60 days. required
