ANTICIPATED OPENING - Payroll & Benefits Specialist needed to perform all secretarial and administrative functions necessary to assist the Trust Manager and the Payroll Manager with the bi-monthly processing of payroll and to ensure effective and efficient office operations; be an integral part of the IU vision and mission.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Office Duties and Responsibilities:
To ensure effective and efficient office operations by maintaining confidentiality; providing quality work; improve process efficiency; manage phone calls; maintain staff schedules; manage appointments; handle mail and correspondence; maintain file systems; maintain work area; participate in the work sharing process; assume additional responsibilities; attend office trainings, workshops, and conferences; extend courtesies to staff and visitors; follow IU policies and procedures; be an integral part of the Intermediate Unit’s vision and mission by working as a team member, contributing to and achieving department goals, updating supervisor(s) and team members on potential opportunities.
2. As Privacy Contact Person, assist the Trust Manager in implementing and monitoring compliance with the Health Care Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.
3. Perform other duties as assigned by the Trust Manager, the EBTEP Management Assistant and the Payroll Coordinator.
OTHER MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assist with effective and efficient office operations by providing backup switchboard/reception area coverage and coverage with phones and assistance to other work areas.
2. Assist the auditors.
3. Assist with data analysis and accounting functions.

This will include completing an Employment Eligibility Verification Form I-9 and showing originals of documents you wish to submit to establish employment identity and work authorization. School Personnel Health Form – READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION.
This form is not required for you to be an active candidate. Please DO NOT have the form completed unless you are directed by a recommending administrator or the Human Resources Office.
If you are recommended as a finalist for a position, you will be required to have a pre-employment medical examination – physical and tuberculosis (TB) test. All results (physical and TB) must be recorded on the School Personnel Health Record. No other forms are acceptable. The physical and TB are at your own expense. If the physical is performed by a Physician’s Assistant or Nurse Practitioner, the Physician must also sign; the TB test may be done by a physician or licensed health care provider. All areas of the physical and TB test must be completed, signed, and properly dated.
Physical and TB results within the last three months of receipt will be accepted if they are recorded on the School Personnel Health Record. Dates of results longer than three months of our receipt will not be accepted.
Selected candidates for IU20 positions will be required to produce state mandated background clearances and fraud checks as part of the employment onboarding process.
