Responsibilities
- Assist occupational therapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Monitor patient progress and report changes or concerns to the occupational therapist.
- Conduct therapeutic activities to help patients improve their daily living and work skills.
- Educate patients and their families on exercises and techniques to carry out at home.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient treatment and progress.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss patient care and treatment strategies.
- Ensure a safe and clean environment for patients during therapy sessions.
Requirements
- Certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) from a recognized program.
- State licensure or certification as required.
- Strong understanding of occupational therapy principles and practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
