METAL FABRICATOR / WELDER

Color-Ad, Inc., a custom sign and exhibit manufacturer located in Manassas, Virginia, is currently taking applications for experienced personnel for our welding and metal fabrication department. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:

The accurate and timely production of custom metal fabrication for sign and exhibit projects

REQUIRED SKILLS AND TRAITS:

• Desire to obtain a working knowledge of Mig and Tig welding
• Willing to learn how to operate construction hand and power tools (i.e. table saw, sander, drill press, band saw, etc.)
• Willing to learn how to read and interpret detailed drawings
• Attention to detail and desire to provide quality craftsmanship
• Willing to learn how to prioritize and manage tasks and time
• Willing to learn how to work quickly, efficiently, and accurately in a deadline-driven environment
• Must have a strong work ethic and be able to take initiative on projects.
• Must be able to work independently but also collaborate with other fabricators, project managers and production managers
• Strong communication skills (both oral and written)
• Creative thinking and problem solving skills
• Willingness to work in other departments when needed
• Possess a positive, whatever-it-takes attitude and a good sense of humor

• Daily moderate to strenuous effort
• Manual dexterity or fine motor skills
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to bend, stoop, climb, reach, grasp, push and pull
• Ability to lift and carry parts and equipment weighing up to 80 pounds.
• High school diploma or GED
• Hourly wage, based on experience
