We are a large referral facility with multiple specialties and emergency services and pride ourselves in offering the most advanced veterinary care and technologies. We also are a private practice teaching hospital, which offers student externs the best of both worlds.
Program overview:
Our flexible externship program can cater to each student’s needs and goals. Our team will involve students to the greatest extent possible, based on your experience, skill, and comfort level. Typical program blocks are two to eight weeks and include four 12-hour or five 10-hour shifts per week, adjusted to accommodate individual department availability. We welcome students at any stage in their education, from first through fourth years. Departments and services we currently offer include:
Emergency
Critical care
Anesthesia and pain management
Cardiology
Diagnostic imaging, including MRI and CT
Interventional radiology
Nephrology and extracorporeal therapy
Internal medicine
Medical oncology
Radiation oncology
Surgical oncology
Soft tissue, orthopedic, and neurosurgery
