Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and organized Full Cycle Billing Specialist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for understanding the entire revenue cycle, ensuring accurate coding & charge entry, timely submission of claims to insurance companies, accurate posting of payments, patient financial collections & counseling, establishing & maintaining copay assistance funding, and verifying insurance eligibility. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, medical coding, and the ability to navigate medical billing records efficiently.
Duties
- Process and submit medical billing claims to insurance companies and government payers.
- Review patient records for accuracy and completeness before billing.
- Utilize ICD-10 coding systems to ensure proper coding of diagnoses and procedures.
- Handle medical collections by following up on unpaid claims and resolving discrepancies.
- Perform financial counseling for all patients prior to treatment, which includes patient financial obligations, billing practices, and establishing payment arrangements.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical billing regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify any discrepancies in medical records or billing information.
- Assist patients in obtaining financial assistance with available copay assistance programs.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality and data security.
- Generate reports on billing activities, collections, and outstanding claims.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years experience working in a medical office/practice performing full cycle billing.
- Preferred experience in infusion/injection buy & bill RCM.
- Experience with CPT/HCPCS and ICD-10 required.
- Proficiency in medical billing software and systems.
- Strong knowledge of medical coding - knowledge of infusion/injection coding a significant plus.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare practices.
- Experience in medical collections is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience in a medical office setting is required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills required, including experience communicating with patients, insurance companies, and other healthcare team members.
- Proficiency with EHR and medical software programs. Experience with PrimeSuite by Greenway a strong plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $27.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
