POSITION OVERVIEW
Colorado Center of Orthopedic Excellence (CCOE), a division of Orthopedic Centers of Colorado, is a busy orthopedic practice seeking an energetic, organized, self-motivated, reliable team member who can work in a fast-paced medical office environment. Candidate must have strong multi-tasking skills with friendly, caring, and customer service focused patient interaction. Candidate must be able to work closely with the physicians, medical assistants, front desk staff in a collegial manner.
Medical terminology and basic knowledge of insurance plans required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION
· Triaging of patients
· Scheduling new and established patients, MRI follow ups.
· Directing calls to destination (Triage, Medical Assistant, Surgery Scheduler, Business Office, etc..).
· Calling patients to set-up appointments when referrals have been sent to CCOE from other medical provider's offices.
· Verifying benefits, referrals and authorizations.
· Strong computer knowledge
· Previous experience with Allscripts highly preferred
· Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- High School Diploma, or equivalent
- Experience in a health care setting
- 1 year of medical scheduling preferred
- Skills in establishing and maintaining an effective relationship with patients, staff, and other medical office personnel.
- Ability to learn of have knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and protocols.
- Ability to perform in high volume, multi-task environment.
- Knowledge in performing pre-authorizations.
· Ability to read, understand, interpret, and respond to different situations and able to communicate appropriately.
· EHR Experience
· Medical Insurance knowledge
· Time management skills
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Frequent standing, typing, moussing, and reading paper and electronic documents.
- Ability to file and track documents and data, both in written and electronic form
- Hours of business are Monday – Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30pm, Fridays 7:30- 4:00 pm
- On occasion, some early, late and overtime hours may be required.
- Requires long periods of sitting and computer usage.
- Managing Scheduling, rescheduling and canceling patients appointments
- Answering telephone calls in a prompt and polite manner
- Registering patients on the phone and in person and preform insurance verification
- Verify patient insurance coverage
- Handle incoming phone calls and other communications, responding promptly
- Responsible for entering data into various electronic systems, as well as maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the data.
- Flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing schedules.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
