Job Summary
The Authorization Specialist will be primarily responsible for checking insurance eligibility requirements for in-house procedures and obtaining authorizations for medical services on daily basis.
Primary Responsibilities
- Checks all currently scheduled appointments seeking out those that require specific authorizations or documentation prior to service and ensuring that all insurance requirements are met daily at all locations.
- Verifying patient eligibility for medical services.
- Processing medical authorizations according to guidelines.
- Preparing and submitting medical authorizations forms.
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation of authorizations.
- Good communication skills with physicians and other medical staff.
- Complies with all regulatory requirements such as OSHA, HIPAA, Compliance and other requirements that may be mandated.
