STATEMENT OF DUTIES
General Statement Of Duties:
Develops and implements educational curriculum and technology utilizing current on-line educational practices to provide educational programs for the Colorado Judicial Department employees specific to court services via distance learning.
Distinguishing Factors:
This position is distinguished from the Distance Learning Specialist due to the supervision responsibilities required. Supervision is received from the Court Programs Analyst III, Analyst IV, Senior Court Programs Manager, and Court Services Division Director.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
This position is in the Division of Court Services at the Colorado State Court Administrator’s Office and supervises the unit that develops, designs, and builds on-demand, asynchronous (self-paced) modules for the Colorado Judicial Department. This position does not teach in person or virtually.
The qualified candidate will have prior job experience in adult learning theory and trends, 508 compliance design, technical knowledge to problem solve web content issues, scripting facilitation guides, voice-over/narration, video editing, software simulation, instructional design, and utilizing design authoring software for interactive asynchronous training modules (self-paced) for adult learning. The candidate will also have great customer service and supervisory skills and be a positive team player. Other responsibilities may include committee work, technical assistance, virtual conference producing, traveling to a judicial district, and general support for judicial staff statewide.
The Division of Court Services office is located in Denver at the Ralph Carr Judicial Center. Court Services operates from a flexible workplace arrangement policy where employees may work in person or a combination of both remote and in-person. The Court Services Division is currently a community of more than 60 employees supporting a variety of initiatives and programs related to trial courts in the state of Colorado. In accordance with P.R.S Rule 15. This position has been granted a waiver of the minimum education requirements.
Alternative Minimum Education: Education and Experience Equivalency:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree and five years of online training design and implementation experience. One year of supervisory experience preferred.
OR
Instructional design experience to substitute for formal education on a year-for-year basis, and five years of online training design and implementation experience. One year of supervisory experience preferred.
This position requires job experience creating self-contained on demand modules. Please provide the following in your application documents:

Supervisor Responsibilities:
Responsible for one's own work product and may provide leadership, guidance, assistance, or mentorship to coworkers including scheduling of work, instructing in work methods, and reviewing work products for a work group. May include formal supervision of less than three subordinates with duties that include scheduling and assigning of work, conducting performance appraisals, providing input into and participating in discipline, dismissal, and hiring processes and decisions impacting the pay, status and tenure of others.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree and five years of online training design and implementation experience. One year of supervisory experience preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to sit; use hands and fingers to perform repetitive motions; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. This position requires 25-50% travel.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
