Together our courts and probation departments are committed to impartial and timely dispute resolution; support for families, litigants, and victims; client rehabilitation; and meaningful community engagement.STATEMENT OF DUTIES General Statement Of Duties : The Lead Audio Visual Architect is responsible for the support of audiovisual (AV) technologies used by the Colorado Judicial Department and supervising the AV team. This classification directs the design, installation, configuration, maintenance, documentation of, and training staff on, AV technologies.Distinguishing Factors : The Lead Audio Visual Architect is distinguished from other classifications by supervising the AV team and performing the most complex functions related to AV support, including decision-making authority. This classification reports to the Manager of Infrastructure.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Architects and implements courtroom AV systems and modifications to existing equipment. Proposes plans for spending of project budgets.Designs and implements long-term strategic goals and short-term tactical plans for managing and maintaining the Judicial Department’s AV equipment and video conferencing technologies.Maintains equipment inventory, licensing, and asset lifecycle management from acquisition to decommissioning.Develops, implements, and maintains policies, procedures and associated training plans for AV system administration, equipment monitoring and disaster recovery.Develops and maintains relationships with vendors.Reviews AV team incidents and reports in IT service management tool, manages AV team incidents and service requests to meet service level agreements, performs problem management, and reviews, edits, authors and approves knowledge base articles.Collaborates with stakeholders on AV related issues to focus resources on maximizing business support.Evaluates new or emerging AV technologies that could better meet business needs.Integrates AV and Video systems with IT network infrastructure according to best practices.Provides expertise, mentoring, and leadership to Audio Visual Engineers.Advises the Architectural Review Governance team.Evaluates architectural and electrical drawings, site visits, creation of construction and system integration drawings and specifications, project budgeting, project commissioning and acceptance.Reviews configuration of digital signal processing and generation of AV system program code.Acts as resource to internal Information Technology Services (ITS) staff, judicial districts and external consultants.Coordinates security issues with the Information Security team.Assigns duties and responsibilities to staff. Establishes expectations and provides employee performance feedback on an ongoing and annual basis for direct reports. Assists subordinates in establishing goals.Makes provisions for subordinates to attend outside training. May provide training.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Education : Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in electronics, AV systems engineering or a related field and six years’ experience in installed audio, visual, video conferencing hardware and software. Current CTS, CTSD, Biamp, Extron and / or Crestron product certifications strongly preferred.ORAt least six years of experience in installed audio, visual, video conferencing hardware and software. Experience in a related field may substitute for education on a year for year basis. Current CTS, CTSD, Biamp, Extron and / or Crestron product certifications strongly preferred.Physical Demands : The employee frequently is required to sit, use hands to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and / or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift / move 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.Work Environment : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and the risk of electrical shock.
