Colorado Public Radio is seeking an Accounting Specialist.
We are not seeking to utilize any hiring agencies to fill this role at this time
About the Position:
The Accounting Specialist, along with another Accounting Specialist already on the team, will support CPR’s financial health by ensuring accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processes, credit card reconciliation, and other day-to-day accounting tasks are completed accurately and efficiently. Both specialists share the preparation of payment data for upload into the accounting system, managing a dedicated AP email, researching previous payments, investigating variances or discrepancies, and processing vendor payments on a weekly basis. They also share identifying and processing incoming donations and sponsor payments, making check deposits, managing a dedicated AR email, preparing monthly billing and invoicing tenants. They assist in bi-weekly payroll, reviewing and approving employee credit card charges, maintaining employee account profiles, monitoring employee expense accounts, and addressing staff inquiries.
This is not a remote position. The Accounting Specialist is expected to reside in the Denver Metro area upon starting.

Your ability to manage your time is strong and you’re comfortable with needing to switch between tasks as needed. You value curiosity, accountability, and a growth oriented attitude.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 4 years of experience related to the position. This experience should include familiarity with entering data into an accounting software system, AP and/or AR, processing payments, investigating accounting variances or discrepancies, making check deposits and preparing invoices.
- Must have experience with accounting software systems, Excel, and learning processes in new software efficiently.
- A demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and provide excellent customer service.
- A demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Education Equivalency:
- None, but a fully related associate’s or bachelor’s degree may help contribute to the minimum years of experience needed to qualify for this position if your years of working experience are a bit shy of the required qualifications.
