Description of Work Unit
Founded in 1870, Colorado State University is among the nations leading research universities and enrolls approximately 32,000 undergraduate, graduate, and professional students. Located an hour north of the Denver metro area, Fort Collins is a vibrant community of approximately 157,000 residents that offers the convenience of a small town with all the amenities of a large city. Fort Collins is situated on the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains with views of 14,000-foot peaks, and offers access to numerous cultural, recreational, and outdoor opportunities.
The School of Education (SoE) faculty is comprised of educator-scholars whose expertise spans diverse learning contexts and populations. Innovative instruction, diversity / equity / inclusion, technology-enhanced learning, distance education, service learning, professional development school partnerships, and rigorous research are embodied in all of our programs. Our faculty members philosophies and areas of expertise, along with the Schools core values, guide our pedagogical and inquiry practices, which are typically both interdisciplinary and applied. The SoE includes approximately 600 graduate students enrolled in on-campus and distance delivery degree specializations.
Position Summary
A Graduate Programs Coordinator plays a crucial role in managing and overseeing graduate programs within an educational institution. The candidate will provide systematic and effective academic support to the Director / Associate Directors, and to faculty and prospective students during the graduate student application process. Support is expected for processing Graduate School and School of Education forms for SoE graduate specializations, and annually track faculty advising and student milestones, while coordinating these efforts within the infrastructure of the college and university. The candidate will maintain two department custodial PCards, assist with PCard allocation following state and university fiscal policy, and process HR platform actions needed as part of the graduate student GS forms for committee members to meet the CSU Graduate Schools policies.
The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic, a willingness to serve in a broad variety of roles, as needed, and be dedicated to the mission of the department.
