Description of Work Unit

The Office of the Vice President for Research ( OVPR ) has overall responsibility for promoting and facilitating the research enterprise at Colorado State University ( CSU ). The OVPR and its research enable the University, its faculty, staff, and students to be part of a world-class research institution complementing our learning, service, and outreach missions. The OVPR plays a key role in the 21st Century Land-Grant mission of Colorado State University by fostering and supporting the research enterprise, promoting scholarship and artistry, instilling a culture of integrity, inclusion and diversity, and capitalizing on opportunities to address global challenges. Position Summary

The Responsible Conduct of Research ( RCR ) Training and Education Coordinator position is responsible for developing and maintaining the RCR Program and ensuring that CSU is compliant with institutional and federal RCR policies and regulations. The Coordinator must understand and apply federal regulations that require RCR training and education as a condition of accepting funding. The position entails understanding scientific and scholarly activity; managing communications with individuals and groups; a commitment to collegiality and confidentiality; skillfully navigating difficult or complex situations; a high degree of accuracy and productivity; preparation and analysis of data from multiple electronic tracking systems; and the ability to work closely with others in a dynamic environment.

In addition to RCR training and education activities, the Coordinator provides administrative support to the research integrity program, the Coordinator assists the Research Integrity Officer ( RIO ) in responding promptly to allegations or evidence of possible research misconduct The position will also assist in the development / revision of institutional policies and procedures related to research misconduct.

The ideal candidate will be a reliable, dedicated and insightful professional with a history of professional integrity, applied critical thinking, project management, and clear written and oral communication.

Required Job Qualifications

  • A bachelors degree and more than five years of relevant work experience in compliance, academic research, or sponsored programs administration.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching, training, or outreach and complementary communication skills.
  • Experience working with large data sets and data analysis.
  • Preferred Job Qualifications

  • A graduate degree (MA / MS, MD, PhD, DVM , or equivalent).
  • Experience / working knowledge of research misconduct and relevant federal regulations and policies.
