What are the responsibilities and job description for the Carpenter - MA position at Colt Builders Corp?
We are currently looking for Carpenters in the Saugus, MA area (all levels of experience) to start ASAP. The ideal candidate will be dependable and detail-oriented with reliable transportation. Carpenters construct and review building framework and structures, such as walls, stairways, doorframes, partitions, roofs and rafters. Will be involved with plan reading and site layout.
Duties and responsibilities
- Follow all Colt and site-specific safety procedure at all times!
- Follow and execute directions given by Foreman and Site Superintendent
- Produce work on or under budget.
- Transition from one task to the next with a minimum of lost time
- Layout and install walls, decks, and roofs.
- Layout and install stairs and rafters.
- Plumb walls
- Install windows and doors, square and plumb.
- Basic exterior trim skills - corners fascia and rakes
- Competent to set scaffolding and inspect.
- Train new employees and apprentice carpenters
- Educate entry level workers on safety protocols and direct properly when protocols are not followed.
- Actively work to increase job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
Qualifications
Working conditions
Full time position, requiring minimum of 40 hours / week - often weekend work may be required, essentially whatever it takes to get the job done. Environmental factors depend on job location but may include extremely cold, extremely hot and humid conditions in an effort to meet client expectations. Work is performed both indoors and outdoors and sometimes at extreme heights.
Essential Function requirements
Should expect to do a considerable amount of lifting, carrying, climbing, kneeling and balancing. Certain amounts of strength, dexterity and alternates is required. Must follow all safety requirements of the job.
