Job Summary
Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, patrol and monitor an assigned campus to maintain order, safety and security; assure student compliance with school and District policies and regulations; respond to security calls and urgent situations when dispatched; investigate occurrences of property damage, theft and suspicious or criminal activity; perform custodial or related duties as assigned.
Requirements / Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
Education : High school graduate or the equivalent. Supplemental college-level coursework in administration of justice, psychology, sociology, child and adolescent development or related field is desired.
Experience : Two years of experience working with middle school or senior high school students. Any combination of training and / or experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities may be considered.
Other : Bilingual / Spanish desirable.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES :
California Class C Driver License; First Aid and CPR certificate; School Security Officer Training (SB 1626) certificate; POST (Peace Officer Standards Training) PC 832 certificate; Oleoresin Capsicum (Pepper Spray) User Course Training certificate. Proof of certificates must be attached to application.
Incident Command System 100 and 200 Training certificates required and POST Recognized Basic Patrol Bicycle Training Certificate desired within probationary period.
All licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of continued employment.
