What are the responsibilities and job description for the Event Coordinator position at Columbia Edgewater Country Club?
Columbia Edgewater Country Club is actively searching for the following employment opportunity:
Event Coordinator
Columbia Edgewater Country Club, Portland, Oregon
About the Club:
Founded in 1925, Columbia Edgewater has been part of Portland's golf landscape for almost a century. Our members share an unbridled love of the game and throughout the decades we have seen many of them develop into players who excel at the local, regional and national level. Our club serves as a place where families can spend time together and enjoy the company of other member families as they learn and embrace the game of golf.
Originally established as Columbia Country Club. Arthur Vernon ("A.V.") Macan was selected to design the course, which opened on July 11, 1925, and was the seventh 18-hole course in Portland, Oregon. Macan was the premiere designer of the time in the Northwest, renovating or designing over 60 courses in his lifetime. Other courses designed by Macan include Seattle Golf Club, Shaughnessy Golf Club, Manito Golf Club, California Golf Club of San Francisco, Inglewood Golf Club, Overlake Golf and Country Club and Marine Drive Golf Club.
The Club recently renovated the Pro Shop and Pool House in 2017, which was opened to tremendous member satisfaction. In the summer of 2024, an $8.3M clubhouse renovation will be complete. This will complement our Championship A. V. Macan golf course and our top 50 ranked in United States for practice facilities of Private Clubs. Our members and invited guests play approximately 45,000 rounds annually. A long-time host to the LPGA Portland Classic, Columbia Edgewater continues to support Championship golf by hosting local, regional, and national tournaments such as the Oregon Open, the Oregon Amateur, the Northwest Open, Oregon Golf Association championships, and Pacific Northwest Golf Association championships.
The Food and Beverage Department has an annual operating budget that consists of sales approaching nearly $2M. As an active member Club, we are open 12 months a year, Tuesday through Sundays (and Monday holidays) for dining. We have a large kitchen to accommodate an intricate operation for both member dining and banquet dining. We serve our members and invited guests in a variety of spaces, including the Bistro, the adult only McIntyre Room, expansive outdoor patio spaces, a Pool House open seasonally, and on course beverage service, as well as on course events as scheduled. The House Committee assists the Food and Beverage team, providing valuable feedback from the membership. The Board of Directors sets the organization’s operational objectives, and the staff works together collaboratively to help the Board achieve its goals.
