Job Summary: As a forklift operator, you will be responsible for safely operating a forklift to transport materials and products throughout the warehouse. Your primary duties will include delivering materials to operators and moving products to different stations, ensuring timely and efficient workflow. You will work closely with the production team, following instructions and maintaining a high level of safety and accuracy in all tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Operate a forklift to load, unload, and move materials, products, and supplies in a warehouse environment.
- Transport materials to operators, ensuring that the correct materials are delivered to the designated workstations.
- Move finished products from production areas to storage or shipping areas, maintaining proper documentation and organization.
- Perform routine inspections of the forklift equipment to ensure its safe and efficient operation. Report any maintenance or operational issues to the supervisor.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including proper handling and storage of materials, use of personal protective equipment, and safe driving practices.
- Assist with inventory management by accurately tracking and recording materials and products moved using appropriate warehouse management systems or documentation.
- Collaborate with warehouse team members and communicate effectively to ensure a smooth workflow and address any issues or concerns promptly.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the forklift and surrounding spaces, to promote a safe and efficient working environment.
- Participate in training programs and stay updated on forklift operation techniques, safety procedures, and warehouse policies.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification or license.
- Proven experience operating a forklift in a warehouse or similar environment.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations, including material handling, inventory management, and workflow processes.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to forklift operation.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and documentation.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
