The shelter manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the shelter, including animal care, customer service, and ensuring the safety and cleanliness of the facility. Responsibilities:
- Animal care: Oversee the care of animals, including intake procedures, adoption process, surrenders, and foster programs
- Customer service: Interact with donors and visitors
- Safety and cleanliness: Ensure the shelter is clean and safe, and enforce safety rules and regulations
- Staff management: Direct the operations of employees, volunteers, and educators
- Reporting: Submit reports to relevant departments
- Education: Educate the public on humane animal treatment
- Inventory: Keep track of supplies and order replenishments
Skills
- Judgment and decision making: Evaluate situations and make decisions to establish priorities and resolve issues
- Interpersonal relationships: Develop and maintain professional relationships with staff, the public, and key stakeholders
- Computer skills: Use the Web and email, word processing, spreadsheets, and PetPoint to complete tasks
Education and experience
- A high school diploma and prefer college-level coursework in a relevant field, such as animal care or biology
- Relevant work experience in the field, including supervisory experience

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week

- Weekends as needed
