What are the responsibilities and job description for the Rescue Assistant position at Shelter Transport Animal Rescue Team?
START Animal Rescue (startrescue.org) is looking for one tough yet helpful individual to join their small team! The position is part time, with flexible days, but with 1-2 mandatory days each month.

START Animal Rescue, an animal rescue nonprofit organization is looking for an assistant to support the organization's Director of Operations in the areas of:
1. Administrative (and Marketing) Support 50%
2. Cleaning and prepping rescue transport vehicles (and doing gross laundry) and 35%
3. Driving dogs to and from fosters, to appointments, and other rescue organizations. 10%
4. Running rescue errands 5%
The actual time spent with animals in this role is fairly minimal, BUT your work would lead to the DIRECT saving of animals' lives, and you will learn all of the in's and out's of animal rescue work,
MUST-HAVES:
*You must be willing to work part-time. We require 2-3 full days, per week, every week (for the most part)
*Be capable of both physical work (cleaning crates, lifting heavy crates, and prepping a rescue vehicle) AND administrative work (gathering sales reports online, writing many thank you cards, answering texts, creating shipping labels, printing photos, and more.
* Able to work under pressure.
*You must be technologically savvy - able to troubleshoot and resolve issues with:
-email
-text
-uploading, editing, and sending photos
-social media (Instagram and Facebook)
-printing
-logging into sites, pulling up and printing reports
*Be able to write clearly by hand.
* Be Extremely Reliable
*Be 100% willing to clean up, and be comfortable with animal feces, urine, and throw up. (Animal rescue work is often dirty work!)
*Able to enjoy the little (and big) successes!
*Must love animals.

Pay is $19 an hour with room for growth. This is a 1099 contracted position (freelance, non-employee).
The team culture is very no-drama, busy busy, and often INTENSE due to the nature of the work.
