The IT Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the organization's IT infrastructure, ensuring efficient system performance, reliability, and scalability while maintaining robust cybersecurity measures. This role balances operational IT management with security oversight, implementing policies, monitoring threats, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The position ensures that IT services align with business needs while safeguarding systems, data, and networks from potential risks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
IT Operations Manager (~50%):
- Manage IT support teams and service desk operations
- Work with MRO and Field operations to provide IT services to meet contractual needs
- Develop and implement IT policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance efficiency
- Monitor system performance, uptime, and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime
- Oversee IT asset management, procurement, and vendor relationships
- Contribute input to IT budgets, ensuring cost-effective resource allocation
- Coordinate with stakeholders to align IT services with business needs
Cybersecurity Specialist (~50%):
- Develop and enforce cybersecurity policies, standards, and risk management strategies
- Monitor and respond to security threats, vulnerabilities, and incidents
- Implement and maintain security technologies such as firewalls, endpoint protection, and SIEM tools
- Conduct security audits, risk assessments, and compliance evaluations
- Manage user access controls, identity management, and data protection strategies
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations (e.g., NIST 800-171, CMMC)
- Provide cybersecurity awareness training and best practices to employees
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field – or minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience
- 4 years experience in IT operations and security roles
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, network administration, and cloud computing
- Experience with cybersecurity frameworks, risk assessment, and incident response
- Proficiency in IT service management (ITSM) and security tools (SIEM, NAC, firewalls)
- Familiarity with compliance standards (NIST 800-171, CMMC)
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Meet requirements for being a U.S. Person
