Job Description
Meets Agency Mission by working as part of the IT team to ensure Agency Information Technology and Network systems meet agency needs, are reliable, secure and provide data integrity.
Essential Functions
- Ensure that the Agency has the technology and information systems (hardware, software, network and other systems/devices) to deliver services within the Agency mission and values.
- Ensure that information technology hardware and applications are functioning optimally.
- Provide support to Agency employees.
- Facilitate confidence in IT Network Operations, and therefore the Agency and programs.
- Protect consumers and reduce Agency risk.
- Provide excellent customer service in a professional manner.
1. Ensure that the Agency has the technology and information systems (hardware, software, network and other systems/devices) to deliver services within the Agency mission and values
- Assist Operations Manager in analysis, recommendation and procurement of IT systems; working on projects to help grow the agency’s technology infrastructure
- Provide problem solving, installation, configuring and implementation of IT systems
- Research and provide input and recommendations to the Agency on new technologies to increase innovation, efficiency, and data while ensuring compatibility with existing IT
- Develop and maintain the Agency Internet and Intranet websites
- Assist Operations Manager with development and implementation of IT policies and procedures
2. Ensure that information technology hardware and applications are functioning optimally
- Set up, manage, maintain, and deploy IT-related equipment
- Install software updates and ensure license compliance
- Maintain hardware and software maintenance agreements and user licenses
- Analyze new hardware and software for system compatibility, including compatibility with State of Oregon information systems used by Agency staff
- Oversee system backups and monitoring; installing and maintaining network components
- Provide network administration, ensure network security, and monitor network connectivity for the Agency
- Identify and resolve hardware and software problems
- Assist with and monitor replacement and upgrade schedules
- Coordinate with State of Oregon and other partner IT departments to provide employee access to required systems, including password/RACF set up
3. Provide Support to Agency employees
- Troubleshoot and solve requests submitted via online instant messaging, emails, phone calls, and in-person visits Conduct
- Identify and resolve software and hardware issues
- Provide individual and occasional group training to staff on the use of hardware, software and related equipment
- Identify, update and maintain resources on the intranet to assist staff in using and learning about Agency IT systems, software

5. Protect consumers and reduce Agency risk
- Follow policies, regulations and requirements of the program and Agency
- Provide documentation as set forth by Federal, State, funding regulations and Agency policy
- Serve as Mandatory Reporter of suspected abuse of vulnerable populations according to and as required by policy regulations
- Maintain and share information according to privacy regulations, also in regards to disposal, shredding, etc. by self and vendors
6. Provide excellent customer service in a professional manner
- Apply the required knowledge and skills

- Work independently, but seek and offer assistance as needed

Secondary Functions
Implement and monitor the Agency’s computer related HIPAA and HITECH guidelines and regulations. Assist Operations Manager by acting as back-up liaison with hardware and software vendors, State IT staff and computer consultants, and serve on various work committees, as assigned.
