- Creates and follows the department’s budget, which includes ad purchasing, product and brand photography, developers and other marketing contractors, influencer and giveaway marketing, and more. Reports on budget and outcomes to CEO and occasionally Tribal Council.
- Creates and implements B2C long-range marketing plan that encompasses strategic print and digital marketing opportunities; establishes high-level social media marketing goals; creates enewsletter, SMS, and blog calendar; identifies and implements store signage marketing opportunities, and more, for both the online retail business and brick-and-mortar establishment.
- Working with the Director of Business Development’s wholesale, bulk, and custom projects goals, creates and implements B2C long-range marketing plan that encompasses print and digital marketing opportunities, creates wholesale enewsletter calendar; identifies and implements tradeshow signage opportunities, and more.
- Identifies current audience and creates/implements strategies for retention, while identifying new audiences and creates/implements strategies for retention; critically assesses the effectiveness of ads at all points in the marketing funnel and reports regularly on effectiveness to the CEO.
- Maintains and grows the press list; writes and distributes regular press releases to key members of the press.
- Working with the Creative Director, plan and execute editorial photoshoots for all products, including identifying photographers, models, and locations; creating shot lists; critically assessing creative; and more.
- Working with the Creative Director, establishes a product launch schedule that ensures a steady and seasonally-appropriate calendar. Follow the product launch process to manage each launch, ensuring artist participation; store, warehouse, and production preparedness; marketing materials and communications readiness; and more.
- Maintains the company voice across all external communications, balancing authentic artistic representation and SEO-forward language in product descriptions; and identifying nuances of different social media channels’ voices.
- Writes all product descriptions, working respectfully with artists to maintain their authentic voice and perspective throughout while unifying pages with company voice and SEO keywords; assist artists in naming products when necessary.
- Maintains the company’s website, refreshing homepage and info pages as needed; creating all product, collections, and artist bio pages; trouble-shooting the customer experience through checkout; identifying and creating new pages and opportunities for further storytelling; and more. Oversees contracted developers and Shopify specialists to make changes to code or major functionality.
- Oversees the work of the Social Media Manager and Marketing Associate to ensure appropriate assignment of tasks, find opportunities for growth, provide feedback on voice and visuals, and more.
- Oversees the Social Media Manager to identify appropriate audiences and ad spend on Google and Meta ads as placed by third party ad agency.
- Assist the Creative Director as needed to establish product prices that balance audience expectations and company’s revenue goals.
- Liaisons with all press, media, film and documentary producers, and others to facilitate interviews with key staff members that uplift the brand as well as Eighth Generation’s tribal owners, the Snoqualmie Tribe.
- Together with the Director of Business Development, facilitate annual Inspired Natives® Scholarship Award process.
- Together with the Creative Director, facilitate the annual or semi-annual Wool Blanket Design Contest.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Minimum 5 years’ marketing experience; experience in retail marketing preferred
- Detailed knowledge of marketing analytics and reporting
- Able to receive and implement constructive feedback
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to differentiate “voice” among platforms
- Able to work with tight deadlines and on multiple projects at once
- Knowledge of Native American and/or First Nations issues; previous work in Indian Country preferred
- Associates or other 2-year degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
