Human Resources Assistant
Columbia River Carbonates (CRC) is a supplier of high-grade ultra-fine ground calcium carbonate products located in Woodland, WA. This position is a dual role assisting payroll & benefits through human resources and executing front office reception duties. We are an industrial site, this position occasionally enters areas requiring personal protection equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, hi-viz, hearing protection, etc).
General office hours are in-person, Monday through Friday 7:30am to 4:30pm. The hourly rate range is $24.00 - $31.16 DOE.
All positions at CRC are deemed safety sensitive, a pre-employment drug screen and background check are required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned)
- Assist with payroll and other HR tasks with the highest of confidentiality.
- Ensure all timecards are verified and accurate prior to the HR manager processing payroll.
- Confirms accuracy in payroll documentation, including leave authorizations, clarifying & documenting inconsistencies with supervisors.
- Assists in analyzing, reconciling, and submitting general ledger vouchers to accounting.
- Assist in HR related benefits administration audits, enrollments, & related filings.
- Scan and file confidential personnel documents physically and electronically.
- Perform administrative assistance in employee recruiting & on-boarding.
- Greet, check in, and train visitors per site protocol.
- Assist in general administrative and clerical support for the site.
- Light cleaning & supply stocking in kitchen area and reception.
- Delivers outgoing mail to post office at end of each working day as needed.
- Regular attendance and working on-site is essential.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
- HRIS experience preferred, ADP Workforce Now highly preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
- Experienced in effective confidentiality practices.
- Strong internal and external customer service.
- SHRM-CP or CITC-PHR certification preferred.
- HS diploma required, degree desired.
- 1-3 years’ experience in an administrative environment.
- Superb organizational ability and follow-through skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
