The Accounts Payable Specialist plays a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient management of the companys accounts payable processes. This position is responsible for following company procedures, approval workflows, and internal controls related to invoice processing, payments, and expense reports. By maintaining accurate and timely processing, the Accounts Payable Specialist helps strengthen vendor relationships, optimize cash flow, and support the overall financial operations of the company.
Requirements for success as part team:
- Receive, review, and process invoices accurately and efficiently
- Reconcile vendor statements to verify receipt of invoices, resolve discrepancies, and make sure payment deadlines are met in accordance with vendor terms
- Investigate and resolve outstanding items, such as unmatched invoices or vendor credits
- Communicate with vendors to address inquiries and resolve discrepancies
- Review freight invoices and dispute charges when applicable
- Prepare and process payments, including checks, wire transfers, ACH payments, and electronic payments, in accordance with payment terms and vendor agreements
- Other duties, as assigned
