Position Summary
Reporting to the Assistant Director, the Human Resource Specialist performs a variety of tasks associated with the recruitment, screening, and selection of new employees. Interviews and screens applicants for technical competence, applicable experience, background and skills. Makes employment recommendations based on information obtained from interviews, applications and resumes. Confers with hiring managers on the status of open positions and coordinates additional advertising if needed. Works closely with departments to understand requests and recommends solutions based on the department's need and work requested. The Human Resource Specialist fields all hiring-related inquiries from managers and will develop/maintain a good working relationship with managers, staff, and peers. Serves as a liaison with the Central Human Resources office on recruitment matters and assists with special projects as required.
Responsibilities
Talent Sourcing
- Proactively source and engage with candidates using various methods, including job boards and networking.
- Develop and maintain a pipeline of potential candidates for current and future hiring needs.
- Review resumes, cover letters, and applications to identify qualified candidates.
- Conduct initial phone screenings to assess candidates' skills and qualifications.
- Coordinate and schedule interviews with hiring managers and interview panels.
- Build strong relationships with candidates to ensure a positive experience throughout the hiring process.
- Provide feedback and keep candidates informed of their application status.
- Partner with department heads and hiring managers to understand staffing needs and job requirements.
- Advise on talent acquisition best practices and market trends.
- Extend job offers and negotiate terms.
- Ensure compliance with legal requirements and company policies during the hiring process.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, recruitment tools, and best practices.
- Recommend improvements to the recruitment process to enhance efficiency and candidate experience.
- Assist with related special projects as required.
- Bachelor's Degree and/or its equivalent experience required.
- 2-4 years related experience.
