Purchasing Assistant Position Description
● Review and analyze ERP System generated reports
● Enter and Issue purchase orders to suppliers, distributors, and manufacturers
● Reschedule orders as required
● Update ERP system information routinely and accurately
● Work with relevant others to ensure items purchased meet company needs
● Learn and maintain current awareness of industry market trends
● Conduct supplier analysis to identify cost-savings opportunities
● Keep accurate records, and report progress in a timely and concise manner
Purchasing Assistant Qualifications
● High school diploma or equivalent required
● Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in related fields is a plus
● Experience in any purchasing or inventory role is preferred
● Automotive or mechanical background is beneficial
● Excellent interpersonal and social skills
● Good verbal and written communication skills
● Proficient in math. Measures, and logic
● Positive and professional demeanor
● Direct experience with spreadsheet computer applications
● Ability to learn, adapt and react quickly
