Description
This position is a full-time, permanent onsite non-clinical position within Tennessee Orthopaedic Alliance in Columbia, TN.
Responsibilities:
- Schedule workers’ compensation appointments, follow-up appointments, and coordinate the scheduling of ancillary services
- Appropriately document and task correspondents from adjuster and/or case manager in patient’s chart
- Work closely with employers, insurance adjusters, a physician to communicate and collaborate on workers' compensation case issues
- Manage the workflow of assigned workers' compensation cases, including telephone and email inquiries from employers, insurance carriers, and case managers, regarding injured worker
- Obtain authorization and pre-certification for services such as examinations, physical therapy, diagnostics and other ancillary services
- Notify appropriate departments/physician if authorization has been approved/declined for test and surgery by the adjuster and/or case manager
- Complete C30-A to Workers Comp once patient has reached PPI and MMI and fax and/or email
- Maintain Workers’ Compensation rules and regulations through Tennessee Department of Labor
Requirements
- Exceptional customer service and patient focus
- Multi-tasking and successfully operating in a fast-paced environment, with the demonstrated ability to handle a high volume of telephonic inquiries and documentation workflow with a high degree of accuracy
- Knowledge of Insurance, particularly workers compensation and health insurance provisions are essential
- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures, including experience with computer systems
- Collaboration, working closely with clinical colleagues and administrative teammates to develop a cohesive, high performing team
- Dependability, with a reliance on the capacity to be at work on-time, every day so our patients can receive the care they need in a timely manner

- 3-5 years’ experience
- Precertification experience
