Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Responsibilities
Start of shift First, get our trucks on the road by labeling and packaging parts. Make the part number stickers, then help the forklift operators wrap pallets. Next, plan out where to place returned material. Direct the forklift operators once you have a plan.
Throughout the shift as it comes up Receiving Audits -as soon as material comes in:
1. measure the sheet size and gauge,
2. label the material with customer name, gauge, sheet size, quantity, and receipt date.
3. Fill out the receiving audit form as you go.
4. If the BOL does not match the items received, alert your supervisor, make a note on the BOL and have the driver sign that.
5. Look for any damage to the material and note it on the audit. If the damage would impact the final part or prevent us from easily running the material, alert your supervisor. Document any significant damage by noting it on the receiving audit and by taking pictures.
6. Material does not go up on shelves or out to the production floor until it is checked and labeled. Plan where to put the material (in advance if possible). No material blocks shelves.
7. Scan a copy of the receiving audit and BOL to the Dropbox and save it to the customer folder. Email a copy to the customer, Plant Manager, QC Manager, Laser Supervisor, and Programmer. File the physical copy. Documentation:
1. File packing slips and shipping accuracy checks.
2. Make and apply GMP PO# tags. This must be completed by the end of the day. Ideally it is completed at the time of receipt.
By the end of shift Material inventory spreadsheet fully updated, with all material received entered and all material moved accounted for, and new copies printed if there are more than 5 changes. Update the GMP tracker when new GMP material is received, and enter sheet usage from production logs.
During down time Stock your station - make sure there is enough wrap, tape, and banding materials accessible on the floor. Check upcoming materials to be run and stage them to be easily pulled, either at the staging bay or at the top of the stack in the shelves. Plan where to put material that will be arriving in the next few days. Consolidate material that is the same, and work on moving all customer materials to the same sections. The goal is to free up space while maintaining ease of access for upcoming materials. Audit the inventory. Check one or two bays every day to make sure the inventory spreadsheet is accurate. If all above items are completed, assist other departments as a general floater (help unload laser parts, clean parts, help brake press stack parts, help QC count parts, as needed.
Qualifications
- Familiarity with basic math for inventory counting and verification
- Keeping inventory systems updated in a timely manner.
- Ability to document incoming and outgoing shipments safely and efficiently
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order fulfillment tasks
