Residential Shift Worker HH/KH (f.t.,p.t.)
Position requires flexibility, but currently assigned, for either or alternating monthly schedules of afternoon, and/or evening shifts. FT receives comprehensive benefits, generous paid leave, and eligibility for retirement plan with employer match. (PT, eligibility for benefits relates to number of hrs. worked). Provides support, supervision and monitoring of residents residing in individual apartments/rooms at Hornsby House or Kendall Home. Review ISP and assist residents in achieving stated goals. Respond to resident crisis using established procedures including contacting appropriate resources for assistance, i.e., Help Network, police, ambulance, etc. Monitor residents for signs of substance use according to established procedures. Assist in daily living activities. Orient and explain program rules and responsibilities, clients' rights forms, etc. Follow procedures related to resident and facility safety as detailed in the procedures manual. The Shift Worker is responsible for ensuring procedures are followed, and must possess skills necessary to monitor and work effectively with adults who may have disabilities. Perform light housekeeping/maintenance duties. Maintain hallways, walkways (in and out) to ensure ongoing cleanliness of areas. Request appropriate assistance and/or outside maintenance, when applicable, or an emergency arises. Participate in supervision, trainings, meetings. Perform computer data system data entry. Regular attendance, work flexible schedule, and adherence to a work schedule. E.O.E.
Minimum Requirements:
HS diploma or GED equivalent required. Minimum one year formal education in the field of social work, psychology, or the human services field, and/or experience with persons with severe mental disabilities, or related experience, preferred. Associate's degree or higher in related human services field preferred. Experience with persons with severe mental disabilities is preferred. Well-developed organization, interpersonal, teamwork and written and verbal communication skills. Exhibit dependability and reliability and ability to work a flexible schedule. Valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle in safe operating condition. Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word), preferred, and ability to perform computer data entry required. Ability to stand/lift/move supplies and equipment to and from work areas, as applicable, or appropriately request assistance when needed. Criminal background, BMV, drug screen clearances.
