The Occupational Therapist leads the process in development, implementation, and coordination of the occupational therapy program. Screening, evaluation, educational program and transition planning, therapeutic intervention, and exit planning is provided for students identified with or suspected of having disabilities that interfere with their ability to perform daily life activities or participate in necessary or desired occupational. The Occupational Therapist is a member of the interdisciplinary education team that works toward the development of skills needed for the occupational of being a student and helps prepare the student to participate in work, play, and independent living activities. They develop and implement therapeutic activities which support therapy goals and objectives. The Educational Support – Occupational Therapist is mandated as a related service under Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA) - Federal Laws 101-457.
