Columbus School for Girls seeks to hire an energetic Upper School Assistant Tennis Coach for the 2025 fall season.
Major Functions and Responsibilities:
STUDENT SUPERVISION
- Assist head coach in proper supervision of athletes at all times during athletic practices and games
- Ensure all students have been accounted for and left the premises prior to departure
GAME AND PRACTICE RELATED RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist head coach in reporting all game results and highlights to the Athletic Department immediately following contests
- Assist head coach in maintaining season long sport specific stats for the team/individuals and submit to the Athletic Department at the conclusion of the season
- Assist head coach in planning and implementing practice plan
- Assist head coach with setting up and implementing drills in practice
PROFESSIONALISM
- Dress in CSG athletic gear and athletic footwear for practices and games
- Display timeliness and preparation for all team practices, games, and other Athletics related meetings
- Demonstrate professionalism in all aspects of communication with parents and athletes
COMMUNICATION
- Assist head coach with TeamSnap application for communication with team members and parents
- Adhere to the school’s social media policy by not engaging student interaction or “following” student accounts (Facebook, Twitter, etc.)
- Inquiries surrounding prospective students must be sent directly to the Admissions Office. Coaches are not to engage in discussion surrounding their program or CSG Athletics with non-CSG students.
- Communicate effectively with Athletic Department regarding changes to schedule, transportation, and rosters
SCHOOL GROUNDS AND BUILDING ACCESS
- Building access cards are designated for the assigned coach and are not to be shared under any circumstances
- Secure all facilities at the conclusion of each use and ensure gates are locked
- Demonstrate pride in our athletic facilities by keeping locker rooms and sidelines clean and free of debris, trash, and water bottles
- Use of CSG facilities must be approved by the Athletics office during the regular and off seasons
OUT OF SEASON EXPECTATIONS
- Out of season skill sessions, conditioning and open gyms are supported and encouraged.
- Sensitivity regarding the demands of multi-sport athletes schedules is a must
Qualifications and Experience:
COACHING CERTIFICATION
- Complete and remain current in all required coaching certifications
- ODE: Pupil Activity Permit (3 years)
- Coaches’ Tool Chest (Annual)
- BCI/FBI Background Check (5 years)
