The Convenience Store Manager is responsible for the fast-paced operations of a high-traffic retail location with an attached fuel station, focusing on quick sales, efficient service, and effective inventory control. This role emphasizes customer service, loss prevention, and maximizing sales of a limited product selection. The manager will oversee staff, ensure store cleanliness and security, and handle vendor orders to maintain essential stock levels. Additionally, the manager will be responsible for fuel operations, including compliance with safety regulations, monitoring fuel inventory, and ensuring pumps are operational. Quick decision-making, adaptability, and hands-on leadership are key to thriving in this role, as the manager must balance daily operations with a customer-first approach in a fast-moving retail environment.
• Oversee daily store and fuel station operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and exceptional service.
• Implement and enforce store policies and procedures to maintain operational excellence.
• Manage inventory, product rotation, and merchandising to optimize sales and minimize waste.
Team Management:
• Supervise and mentor Assistant Managers and staff, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
• Coordinate staff scheduling, training, and professional development to enhance team performance and retention.
Customer Experience:
• Maintain high store standards to provide a positive shopping experience, promptly addressing customer inquiries and concerns.
• Develop and implement customer service strategies to boost satisfaction and loyalty.
• Support and promote community initiatives, incorporating Tribally relevant promotions and events.
Sales and Financial Management:
• Assist in achieving sales targets and managing budgets to optimize profitability.
• Analyze financial reports and key performance metrics to identify opportunities for operational improvements.
• Report on financial and operational performance to the COO.
Compliance and Safety:
• Ensure adherence to all legal, health, safety, and environmental regulations for both grocery and fuel operations.
• Maintain a safe and secure work environment by enforcing organizational policies and best practices.
• Promote a safe working environment and adherence to company policies.
• Understanding of budgeting, profit margins, financial reporting, and cost control measures.
• Knowledge of product placement, stock rotation, vendor relations, and loss prevention strategies.
• Awareness of fuel station operations, environmental regulations, and safety protocols.
• Experience in staff scheduling, training, and performance management to drive team success.

Qualifications
• Minimum of 3–5 years of retail management experience, preferably in a convenience store or fuel station setting.
• Experience in inventory management, merchandising, and vendor relations.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Must be comfortable with computers, point-of-sale (POS) systems, inventory management software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Familiarity with standard office equipment, including printers, cash registers, telephones, and security systems.
• Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Retail Management, Financial Management) are a plus.
• Experience in managing fuel station operations is highly desirable.
• Proven track record of driving sales growth, achieving budget goals, and improving operational efficiency.
• Strong experience in managing, mentoring, and developing a team of employees in a dynamic retail setting.
Physical Requirements:
• Regular movement is necessary to operate store equipment, including point-of-sale systems, fuel pumps, and office computers.
• May be exposed to fluctuating temperatures in refrigerated or outdoor areas.
