Under general supervision, the Quartermaster Coordinator is responsible for providing inventory management and storeroom support to the Quartermaster.  This individual will provide services by implementing and utilizing systems, practices, and procedures to maintain administrative inventory management projects.  
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  Duties include the following: 
  • Determines the method of storage, identification, and stock location based on turnover, environmental factors, and physical capacity of the facility. 
  • Verifies computations against physical count of stock, adjusts for errors, or investigates discrepancies.  Locates and selects equipment, materials, supplies, tools, and other articles from stock and issues items to employees. 
  • Delivers equipment, materials, supplies, and tools to designated areas, and determines sequence and release of back orders according to stock availability.
  • Prepares documents, such as inventory balance, shortages, and periodic reports using computer programs.
  • Receives and fills orders for equipment, materials, and supplies.
  • Packs, unpacks and marks supply items using electric marking tools or other labeling equipment.
  • Examines and inspects stock items for wear or defects, reports damage to supervisor, and disposes of or arranges to return items to vendor.
  • Picks up and delivers county vehicles to vendors, employees, and the road department.  
  • Drives county vehicles to pick up incoming stock or deliver returned stock. 
  • Coordinates and schedules work activities with employees and vendors.
  • Conducts and documents annual inventory audits.
  • Ensures that all billing and inventory deadlines are met.
  • Verifies all vendor's billing for appropriate charges.
  • Makes certain that all administrative activities comply with Sheriff’s Office policies and procedures.
  • Assists Sheriff’s Office personnel in other administrative duties as required.
  • Attendance is an essential function of the job.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
A High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required; one (1) to two (2) years of clerical experience; should possess basic knowledge of law enforcement procedures and practices; OR any combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.  Excellent communication and customer service skills are required.  Intermediate experience in Inventory Management and Office Administration is preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid Texas driver’s license to operate county vehicles.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out details but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

This position requires constantly carrying, lifting, rearranging, and moving equipment, material, and supplies weighing from 25 to 70/80 pounds.  
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle, feel, talk, or hear.   The employee is often required to sit, stand, and walk.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision with correction.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and fumes of airborne particles and may be required to work outside in extremely high temperatures. 
This position has been identified with a possible risk of exposure to bloodborne pathogens and/or other various hazards that require immunization against such exposure.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Salary : $46,842 - $48,714
