Compensation: Based on Experience
DEFINITION: The Coding Supervisor is responsible for assisting the coding manager with the coordination of all coding functions (Facility coders as well as the Pro-fee coders) and assisting other departments with any coding related issues. Through the development of a strong coding compliance program, oversees the day to day activities for all staff involved in pro-fee coding and billing. Ensures that all work is completed correctly and in a timely manner to ensure maximum productivity and accuracy of all coding and appeals.
EDUCATION: Bachelor Degree in Health Information Management, Associates Degree in Health Information Management or at least 5 years of experience working in a coding department at a hospital of equal or greater size and has CCS certification.
REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS (IF APPLICABLE): N/A
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of 2 years experience in a position in a hospital of equal or greater size with similar responsibilities.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Registered Health Information Management Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)
