Shift/Hours:
1st shift: 5:45 am to 2:30 pm Mon-Fri (8 hrs)
2nd shift: 2:15 pm to 1:00 am Mon-Thur (10 hrs)
Job Description
Very fast paced environment.
- Packaging A Operator will operate assigned packaging equipment which may include automatic and semi-automatic equipment such as filling, plugging, capping and coding machines, cartons, case sealers, wrappers, labelers and related equipment. The operation of the equipment includes responsibility for safe and effective performance of the equipment to assure acceptable quality products.
- Packaging Operator A will be responsible for preparing and maintaining certain production records, including Daily Line Performance Reports, portions of the Batch Packaging Record, assigned records material usage, pallet tickets, logs and records for GMPs and other records as assigned.
- Packaging Operator A will make line position assignments for B Operators assigned to their line, will direct Line Service workers regarding line set up supplies. Must be willing to work on assorted production lines and run the lines when requested.
- Must be flexible, safety conscious, production conscious; have a good working relationship with people and good attendance.

Experience and Knowledge
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Six to twelve months of training or experience
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to direct employees assigned to line, including position rotation and exercises
- Basic mathematical skills
- Ability to maintain a professional and courteous relationship when working with others in the organization
- Ability to understand and use Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or willingness to learn
- Ability to operate all production lines within the facility
- Legible handwriting
- Ability to document and complete job tasks with accuracy
Physical Abilities
- Good vision
- Ability to hear and speak
- Ability to work with hands and arms (shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand)
- Stretching, reaching, stooping, and bending
- Lifting requirements include: ability to lift 15-20 lbs from floor to waist level with frequency of 4-5 per hour and 25 lbs with frequency of 10-15 per hour.
- Standing up to a total of 8.5 hrs per day, including a maximum of 4 hrs increments (before a break)
- Ability to do repetitive tasks with both hands and arms at a frequency of up to 60 per minute.
