Who we are looking for:
The Safety Manager ensures the integration of health and safety initiatives throughout all business stages, conducting job site analyses, inspections, and safety training while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. They also review employee incident reports, recommend corrective actions, and support accident management and prevention efforts to maintain a safe working environment.
What you’ll be doing:
Including but not limited to:
- Foster facility awareness, involvement, and accountability of health and safety issues to ensure full integration of company initiatives within all stages of the business.
- Reviews Employee Incident Reports and makes recommendations for corrective actions.
- Perform routine job site safety analyses and building safety inspections and reviews across the F&R footprint.
- Maintain training documentation.
- Ensure and monitor regulatory issues. (i.e. EPA, DOT)
- Assist F&R with accident management and prevention.
- Maintain and file documentation needed for reporting to controlling agencies.
- Travel to off-site locations to conduct training on a scheduled basis.
- Conducts safety meetings, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance, evaluate performance, identify corrective action, and implement follow up assessments.
- Plans, implements, and conducts preventative care, safety, and compliance training programs.
- Plans, implements, manages, and maintains comprehensive environmental safety & health programs on premises or at project site locations.
- Provides project management team with guidance on health and safety and confirm project site fulfills industry, local, state, and federal guidelines and regulations.
- Guarantees that all work is performed in accordance with approved manuals, internal policies and procedures, contract documents, and good safety practices.
- Provides technical support to project managers.
- Participates in team meetings and provides regular on-site project presence.
- Other duties as assigned
What you need to have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Safety preferred
- 5 years of relevant experience
- Current certifications in First Aid, CPR, OSHA desired
- Ability to speak well and present information to managers, clients and employees.
- Ability to communicate and work effectively in close proximity with co-workers to inform them of work-related problems, regulatory and compliance updates.
- Agility in multitasking in a fast paced construction environment.
- Excellent oral & written communication skills
- Self-starter and problem solver
- Excellent organizational skills
- Must be willing to participate in and pass F&R’s pre-employment screening including a background investigation, drug screening and driving record
