What are the responsibilities and job description for the Carpenter Helper position at Comer Construction?
Comer Construction is a small, family-owned and operated general contractor, primarily involved with residential construction in Roanoke and surrounding areas. We currently have an opening for a Carpenter Helper who is seeking a premium contractor that values quality and detail in all phases of construction. Although experience in construction is desirable, we are willing to train those who are hard-working and interested in pursuing a helper position. We are seeking someone who works well in a team-oriented atmosphere.
Desired candidates would have basic technical and practical knowledge with remodeling and new construction including:
- Familiarity with power tools
- Basic framing and trim work
- Ability to install windows and doors
Other duties and responsibilities:
- Must have valid driver’s license and reliable mode of transportation
- Must own basic hand tools
- Work well with others or alone, as needed
- Execute instructions given by Lead Carpenter in a quality-oriented, but timely manner

- 8 hour shift
